There is no proof that this KOHTZ family is related to our KOHTZ family.
But as my mother's maiden name is KOHTZ and her ancestors also come from the same greater area,
we did some research on several US-Kohtz families which we are willing to share.

married 21 Nov 1861 in the Fordon Parish Church.

They arrived on the "Köln" (Cologne) from Bremen to New York on April 22, 1872

with their three surviving children Friedrich, Hermann and Hulda.

Seven more children were born in America.

Martin KOHTZ was a shoemaker in Germany and a farmer in Nebraska.

 

** The second name David was not found in any discovered document for Martin, but is reported by his descendants.

Only his tombstone says: D. M. Kohtz
