The couple lived close to Nice, France for a long time where they had the "Hôtel des Anges" and a little bakery. They returned to Monthey, Switzerland when older. Ernest's niece Marie-José Borgeaud lived with them for a long time while they were in France.

Castle of Chillon near Montreux at Lake Geneva.
